THE JOY OF SLEEP + WITH A BLINK OF AN EYE

So last night I didn't post any short stories and I feel really bad about it, but my main reason for not posting one is because I had the opportunity to go to bed early and I did. So yesterday was a bit weird, made some more prints from images that I did ever so long ago (variation shown below). Otherwise not anything interesting, besides that you should watch Stranger Than Fiction with Will Ferrell, one film that he is in and it suits him quite well with an interesting plot.

Fiction as defined by the dictionary:

2. works of this class, as novels or short stories: detective fiction.
3. something feigned, invented, or imagined; a made-up story: We've all heard the fiction of her being in delicate health.
4. the act of feigning, inventing, or imagining.
5. an imaginary thing or event, postulated for the purposes ofargument or explanation.
6. Law. an allegation that a fact exists that is known not to exist, made by authority of law to bring a case within theoperation of a rule of law.

The world is ever so colorful that with every blink it changes shades. You might not know that but the colors you see now are probably familiar to you but are constantly changing, since not everyone sees the same. The grass can be greener for some and the sky could be bluer. We are constantly including additives in what we see, from the color our food is to the color of the walls.

In a white room there is a red chair and a clear table. You only see the chair and when you walk towards it you bump right into the corner of the translucent table. Now you know that there is a table in the room as well and wonder what else can be hiding from you in plain sight. You continue towards the chair and don't come across anything along the way. This chair looks uncomfortable because of the material it is made of, but you sit down anyways and it turns out to the most comfortable chair ever.

You sit in the chair for a while staring out across the vast white room. You don't see the table you bumped into anymore. You get up from the chair and decide to move it towards that table. Carrying the chair above your head, you head in the general direction you believe the table is. You don't find it, turning to the left you continue about the vast room looking for it. You wonder why in the world would someone put an invisible table in a white room with a red chair. You continue to wander about and after 30 minutes of carrying the chair over your head you get tried. So you set it down, knowing it is easily to spot and continue on you search.

After an hour of walking and trying to find the table, you bump into it. You look into the distance and the red chair is at the far end. You dig through your pockets and find a yellow piece of paper, a pocket watch and a handkerchief. You decide to leave all of this on the table, so it will be easier to find when you go and retrieve the chair from the far end. You start your journey back only thinking to yourself, is this room really that big? By the looks of it the building that this rooms resides in isn't that big, it's only a quarter of the size of a city block.

You make it back to the chair, rest for a bit a then continue to carry it across the room. You see your belongings on the table so you head towards them. The chair has gotten heavier from the last time, so you decide it is much easier to drag it along the floor. The legs of the chair scrape across the floor, you are constantly stopping to rest and every time you look towards the table it gets further and further away. You know that you're not going in the wrong direction, and conclude that your eyes are playing a trick on you.

A few hours have pasted since you entered the room, and now the table with your belongings seems closer than ever. So as fast as you can you decide to push it towards the table while breaking into a run. Finally reaching the table with the red chair, so slump down into it to rest your eyes and body for a moment. You sit there with your eyes closed for a minute, open them, collect your belonging that are on the table, put them away in their respective places. You put your head on the table to rest for a bit more, the brightness of the room is killing your eyes. You look out onto the horizon, you don't even know where the door to this room is anymore.

You blink and all of a sudden you are somewhere else, still sitting in the red chair with your head on the transparent table. Is this some sort of trick?

THE END.
Please leave some feedback, it will be much appreciated.
