OBSESSION + CIDER CREEK INN MASSACRE

Have you ever been obsessed about something so much that it was all you could think about all the time? Recently I've developed an obsession you can say and I don't know what to do about it.

OBSESSION as stated by the dictionary:

–noun

1. the domination of one's thoughts or feelings by a persistent idea, image, desire, etc.
2. the idea, image, desire, feeling, etc., itself.
3. the state of being obsessed.
4. the act of obsessing.

Harry was down in the dumps one day looking for the book that he accidently had thrown away a few days prior. He had found the general area where, by the looks of it, his garbage had been dumped and that of his neighbors. Harry was getting close to finding the missing article of important reading material which he thought was so important in his life. One would think that Harry was going too far to drive to the city dump and rummage through all the trash to find his missing book. Well sadly Harry was attached to this book so much, even though it was old and tattered, for he had gone to so many places with the book in his hand or luggage. He had been at the dump for a few hours and it was turning dark, with a red sun setting over the garbage. Harry had moved and dug here and there, wherever he saw familiar trash that looked like his. Finally finding the right area and after a few minutes of rummage, he found his missing literature.

He began his descent through the huge pile of garbage as fast as he could since he knew that the dump would close at sun down. He still had a ways to go to get to the entrance and the sun was sinking into the horizon fast. Harry tried his best to navigate through the piles that rose around him. He then finally got to some level ground and broke into a jog in order to make it just as they where closing the gates. Slipping through and heading towards his car he noticed that he gave off a horrific stench, as if he lived in something that was constantly rotting. Changing out of his clothing into his other pair, he threw out the clothes that gave off that stench right back into the dump, got in his car and drove away.

While of the road back home, he noticed he could still smell the dump on himself. He decided to stop off at the next motel to try and wash off the stench. He pulled into a little nice place called Cider Creek Inn, the lot was full and when he finally found a space he got out and headed to the office with his duffel bag in hand. Cider Creek Inn was run by an elderly couple, Nancy and Darrell, which would somewhat explain why the place looked a bit run down. They greeted him with big smiles on their face. They had him register and then they gave him a key to the room.

Once Harry was inside his room, he made sure everything was in working order. He went to the shower, turned the water on and let it run while he went and undressed. He took everything off and threw that into the waste bin since it too smelled like the dump now. He took the book and tried his best to disinfect it.

By the time he entered the shower the water was perfect, he spent the next hour washing away the stench that had followed him. After he finished, he got dressed, made sure the room was the way he found it and then left, forgetting to turn off one of the lamps.

On his way back to the office to check out, he noticed how the parking lot was full, but all the rooms where dark, and no noise was coming from anywhere only from the road about a mile away. He went down to his car, threw his duffel bag back into the trunk and went to the office. As he walked in Nancy and Darrell where still sitting in the same place just as when he came in.

Harry said "I want to check-out, how much do I owe you?" Nancy grinned and replied "Oh, well you weren't here long, so you just owe us $45" Harry paid for his room and as he started to head out Darrell said "Oh, sonny boy, it looks like you forgot to turn off the lamp in your room, could you do us a favor and go back up and turn it off."

"Sure, no problem."

Harry went back to his room to turn off the lamp that he left on. As he was fumbling with the switch on the lamp he got a little electrical shock, which he thought nothing of. Then when he finally turned the switch the proper direction he got an entire bolt of electricity running through him. He flew back, hit his head on the dresser and blacked out.

Finally when he regained consciousness he saw Nancy and Darrell standing over him. Darrell was holding something over his head, which all of a sudden came crashing down really hard onto Harry's face. There was an instant jolt of pain and Harry screamed at the top of his lungs. Next thing he knew, both of them where beating him with crowbars. He continued to scream, hoping someone would hear him, but no one ever would. They continued to beat him until he was a bloody pulp and when every single bone in his body was broken. He was still conscious and could smell as well taste his own blood. He felt all of their hits but couldn't do anything to stop them.

Next thing he knew they were dragging his bloody body over to the bed. Once he was on the bed the turned him over so that he was on his belly. They then reached overhead and attached some meat hooks from the ceiling and proceeded to hoist Harry up by his back over the beds and carpet. They had left him for dead.

He was in so much pain that he wished he could be put out of his misery and just being dead already. He wondered why no one had heard him scream, and then a horrific thought came to mind "What if all the cars down there in the parking lot are the cars of other victims who are just like me, hanging here from the ceiling"

Right before he passed on he thought of all of his family and friends and how he couldn't believe this happened to him because he decided to get his favorite book from the dump. He could have just purchased a new one and still be alive.

A few weeks would pass when the federal government would storm Cider Creek Inn to find all the people who little old Nancy and crippled Darrell had tortured, beaten and left for dead. There were 26 rooms in the complex with a total of 77 bodies found all hanging from the ceiling from meat hooks in their backs, over a blood soaked carpet.

One question the federal government kept on asking was, why would Nancy and Darrell do this to so many innocent people?

And only the victims knew why, Nancy and Darrell had loved when people came to visit the motel when it was in full bloom. It only came to this massacre after Nancy and Darrell found one of their guests hanging from the ceiling of their room by meat hooks, a few years back. After that incident they cleaned up the room itself and disposed of the body at the city dump. The only reason why they knew this was because Nancy and Darrell told everyone this after they had hung them from the ceiling.

There are countless numbers of other bodies that they disposed of at the dump that Harry visited, scattered about the garbage with no one ever being able to find them all. Constantly rotting whenever fresh meat was brought in, hence the horrible stench, that Harry tried his best to get rid of.

THE END.
